2014 Convention - Pre and Post Convention Tours

We are currently working on information and details for Pre & Post Convention Tours for those attending the 2014 NCA Convention.

We have blocked rooms at the Hilton Long Island Hotel from Friday September 12, 2014 through Tuesday September 23rd. The actual dates for the convention are Wednesday evening September 17th through Sunday morning September 21st. Tech Day Workshops are also planned for Wednesday morning and early afternoon September 17th, for more details check the Tech Day convention page.

If you plan to arrive a few days early or stay a couple of extra days, we have a few ideas with links you might want to consider and add to your New York Convention experience.

Want to see the sights and landmarks of New York City? We have a few ideas and information to help you plan:

You can begin with having the Hilton Hotel Shuttle take you to the Farmingdale Station of the Long Island Railroad. You will be looking for information on the Ronkonkoma route. For your best price on the LIRR, be sure to purchase your ticket at the station before boarding. You can ride the train in to Manhattan and Penn Station.

From Penn Station you can walk or take a Taxi to the Grayline Visitors Center located at 777 8th Ave , between 47th st & 48th st. They have a wide variety of tours available.

You will also be near Bryant Park and Hudson River Park and their newer carousels. Other New York City Carousels you might want to visit include:

• The very unique Seaglass Carousel in Battery Park
• The Conservation Carousel at the Staten Island Zoo
• The Bug Carousel at the Bronx Zoo

Closer to the hotel you can Discover Long Island and explore the historic Gold Coast Mansions and museums, enjoy the beaches of The Hampton, relax at the many wineries, and of course discover all the shopping available. Just click on the Things To Do button on the Discover Long Island website.

For shopping, the Hilton Hotel vans will shuttle you (on an available basis) to the Walt Whitman Mall, boasting over 80 of the nation's finest shops and one of Long Island's premier shopping experiences.

If you want to ride one more double deck Merry-Go-Round, you might want to check out Advertureland, located near the Hilton Hotel. Out on the east end of Long Island you can visit the Long Island Game Farm and their Allan Herschell carousel.
