In sanding the animals on the carousel as we prepared them for renovation, we have been careful to leave evidence of original colors so that, should a complete professional restoration ever be done, historical accuracy can be preserved. We have been careful not to refer to our work as "restoration". Our goal has been to bring the animals to life and to make the machine appealing to those who visit.
