Great Northern Carousel
Neptune and his sea horse.

National Carousel Association Logo © Gary Nance
Date of picture: April, 2004
The shimmering hippocampus sports King Neptune on it's side. This is the lead or King figure on the Helena machine, and is a Roth original design of the hippo (horse) campus (fish) made famous by many historic carousel carvers. Neptune is carved to resemble owner, Alan Nicholson.

It features special paint treatments where metallic iridescent powders were added to the tail and pearl powder was added to the finish to simulate the glisten of a wet figure.
