All these horses are carved with legs tucked up under them, as if the horse is being caught at the most dramatic moment in full gallop. There is a practical reason for showing all horses in full gallop, too. Tucked-up legs allow a running horse to be big and yet not so high from the platform that they are hard to climb upon.
