Ontario Beach Park and the historic Dentzel carousel are operated by the Monroe County Parks Department. The county started renovating the carousel in 1984, and has rebuilt the deteriorating roundhouse, installed a sprinkler system, improved lighting and added a promenade around the building. The addition of a ramp inside the carousel building makes it totally handicapped accessible to the public.

The walkway from left to right at the front of the pictures is a promenade that leads from Lake Avenue east to the pier at the Genesee River. Recent renovations in the area have resulted in new lights, park benches and beautifully landscaped grounds to enhance the park and the port area, which is immediately to the south of the carousel.
