Great Northern Carousel
Pig, aka "Porkasaurus"
© Gary Nance
Date of picture: April, 2004
This pig was intended to be a temporary figure on the carousel, but he's become one of the children's favorites. Some antique French carousels featured farm animals and fish exclusively but the Dentzel carousel company introduced this style to America. The Dentzel figures usually had large front tusks but very friendly faces.
